A Christmas Carol

Dickens' holiday classic on stage

The Alcazar stages its own adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Åsa Olsson and assisted by E. Bonnie Lewis, with holiday music and dancing woven into the story. It begins on a cold Christmas Eve in London, seven years after the death of Jacob Marley, as the miser Ebenezer Scrooge turns down his nephew Fred's dinner invitation, sends away collectors for the poor and grudgingly gives his clerk Bob Cratchit the day off. That night Marley's chained ghost warns him that three spirits are coming.

Performances run two weekends, December 4–13: Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets are $25, or $20 for seniors and students.
