Mesa Harmony Garden Plant Giveaway
Free plants plus a Master Gardener talk on composting
On the last day of its fall plant sale, Mesa Harmony Garden on the Mesa (Dolores Drive at Meigs Road) gives away plants from its nursery from 9 am to noon. Donations are optional but welcome and help keep the volunteer garden going. Plants on offer include ceanothus, avocado trees, sages, coral bells, passion fruit, chayote, herbs, boysenberries, vegetables, plumerias, ferns, geraniums, agapanthus, coleus, succulents and cacti.
From 10 am to noon, the Santa Barbara UC Master Gardeners give a presentation on composting; registration for the talk is through the Master Gardeners' events page. The giveaway and talk will be postponed in case of heavy rain. Mesa Harmony Garden is a project of the nonprofit Empowerment Works and grows produce for the Food Bank and the community.
