UCSB Innovation Engine
A Ventech panel on how UCSB research becomes new ventures
UC Santa Barbara is one of the Central Coast's biggest economic engines, producing the research, talent and new companies that shape the region's tech and business scene. This Ventech panel brings together leaders of the campus programs that turn that potential into real ventures.
Panelists are Tal Margalith of OASIS, Sherylle Englander of the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI), and Dave Adornetto of the Technology Management Department's New Venture Program. Eric Zackrison moderates.
They'll talk about how discoveries and ideas move from labs, research centers and classrooms into the market. They'll also cover which technologies and startups are emerging now, and how programs across campus, from the Bren School to others, feed that pipeline.
The conversation also looks at how founders, investors and local companies can tap into UCSB's research, talent and programs, and what this growth means for the regional economy.
